Issue with Banana Plugs

Just received my Eclipse Silver 7 Speaker cable, fitted with Banana Plugs at both ends. On both the speakers and the amplifier, the plugs don't seem to go all the way in.

I had a super hard time getting them in, very tight. Any ideas?

At the McIntosh end, there is a locking ring on the terminal. You need to loosen it to open up the connection fully. It is the top knurled ring.

On the speaker end I'd check that connector for either push pull or twist adjustment. I'm not that familiar with B&W connectors but as with most speaker banana plugs, like on my Aerials, you normally loosen the connector ring by twisting it to the left, the inserting the plug, then tightening the ring.

Yep............. think its time for new speakers & amp(s) that fit those new banana plugs.

Talk to Ivan. Feel sure he can 'hook you up' after he has recovered from this weekend.

Don't you need a special connector/adapter for mcintosh amps and banana plugs?

I couldn't connect my banana plugs to my briefly owned MC452, because I did not have those adapters, and had to use bare speaker wire instead.
Maybe I'm just clueless.

Nope, nothing special required as far as I know.

I thought I had the same problem with my MC501's and it was just that top locking ring.

I eventually got them into the binding posts, very hard.
