Detailed instruction how to remove excess silicone has been sent to local dealer days ago.
And they are trying to make a how-to video clip too.
With no one here really haas experience doing so, I think either I or dealer can do the job.
The chance of success are about the same. But again any scratch will then under my responsibility, I

And these silicone are claimed to be an excess cause by being squeezed too tight rather than melted.

Toga.......I sure feel for you. It definitely should not be your responsibility to correct this flaw. Like you said, any scratch will then be your responsibility, not to mention any diminished value should something like that happen. The Magico Q7's are not my speakers but reading your post makes me nervous for you. I am still paying attention to the resolution of this warranty issue and hoping for satisfactory results.

It's odd that the problem just arose if it was a an issue of them being constructed with to much force. I would think it would have squeezed out instantly. I know you mentioned multiple times that you were not wanting to send the speakers back no matter what. If the dealer does scratch the sides up trying to scrape away the excess did they say they would send a new speaker and if so would you be willing to ship at that point or be stuck with the scratched up one?

From the explanation.

The squeeze was caused by temp variation that cause small expansion to the metal. The tool that will be used to do the job is something that is not too hard that it scratch anodized finish. We will use sharpened wood to pick the excess sealant out from the edge area and that is done. The precaution has been stressed in the instruction regarding sensitive are ( copper ). Small amount of alcohol to wipe out the rest of silicone deposit .
Of course, with the $$$$ for this speakers, I am sure I will not allow them to do anything risky. I will watch the process without blinking.

Toga... Sorry but no. Given the price of these speakers (even at dealer cost), Magico should be flying out a tech to fix this... On their dime. Anywhere on the globe. Especially for a design flaw.

Now I am curious, how much expansion, contraction occur for an aluminium when temp varies
For about 10 degree C. Let's imagine Magico secured all nuts and bolts in a temped controlled room, may be at about 24c,
Then I am curious with routinely size changes of all connected pieces inside, How long the tightness will hold. But based on
My experience with Q3 or even Q7, I never hear any ringing from inside due to vibration so far, what I am worried is for the next ten years. I heard metal expanded noise clearly during class A amp warming up and also structure of my ceiling too.
