You really really really really like the 703s2 don't you?

Perhaps from a value for dollar perspective, but B&W has calved out a history of making speakers that perform in accordance with their rrp pecking order. With few exceptions you get what you pay for, mostly because the design and construction is exceptionally well engineered.

FTR, I'll be visiting one of the Soundstage reviewers this week to hear his latest speaker acquisition so I can ask if he knows when the 703s2 review is likely to be published.

While I have no doubt for the money the new 700 series is a tremendous value and use similar trickle down technologies of the 800 series they are not in the same league.

I have not seen a similar comparison published yet that shows the 703S2 versus the 702S2 which does not have the separate tweeter on top or the extra woofer in play.

I have read some initial reaction from audio reviewers however that gave the heads up to the 702S2 over the 703S2 as being more detailed and better dynamically especially in the bass which you would expect.

Will be interesting to see what Kal reports.
The 805 D3's only got 81 points too, the same as the 702 s2's!

It's very rare but it does happen! Sometimes you get a lot more than you should!

No, I love them!

Stereo Dealer, Nagys Audio . Com has a pair of 703 s2's and he believes these 703's are one of best you can buy at any price! He said he likes his 703's better than the $250,000.00 Wilson Audio speakers that many say are one of the world's best speakers!

I'm a bowers fan, but I doubt that's something that can be generalized.

Some will like the 800 series a little more and others will like the 700 series better, we all have different taste

As always, best to allow your own ears to be the final judge. That said, I've not heard them myself but a valued source tells me that the 702S2's are an outstanding speaker that can more than hold their own against the previous 800 series in many areas of performance. However, the laws of physics still apply so don't expect them to shatter windows or loosen roof tiles etc.

And Fwiw, to clear up any misconceptions, my reliable informers have advised me that SoundStage Australia is not currently scheduled to review the 703S2's.

Wink

Don't listen to what anyone says on a forum

Go listen to both series and let your own ears be the judge!
