Hi Olaf,

I'm also Dutch. No Magico, but I do have an integrated Accuphase (E250) I use with my Harbeths. Impressive stuff you have! I would never change your amp! It is a wonderfull thing. One of the best I think.

Regards,
Tom

Wondering if there are any other Magico V3 owners here.

My set up

Accuphase E-560
Wadia 381i
Magico V3
Pioneer BDP-LX91

NBS Omega Extreme I speaker cable
NBS Black label, powercord CD player
Cardas Golden Cross XLR
Jena Labs Powercord, amplifier
NBS Active II, powercord Blu ray player

Basically very happy with my setup, but sometimes wondering if a bigger amp would improve a lot?

Olaf
I would try some different cables first. Don't know NBS, but you can do much better than Cardas Golden Cross ... you would be surprised how much better your system will sound with a more transparent cable.

Can you elaborate on diferencies ? I have Shunyata Zitron Anaconda speaker cables on loan right now, curious how they compare to MITs.

Hi Tom,

Nice to meet a fellow dutchman here, I am very happy with my E-560, just wondering if the magicos would like a bit more power, although the accuphase " should" deliver around 120 watt @4 ohms as per a review I read. (official Accuphase figure is 60 watt)
Amplifier is very stable, 2 ohm load is also no problem.

hi Adam,

Before I had the Magico V3, I played with Focal Electra 1037be, with this combination the golden cross worked out great. Also now I like the overall balance in the system, but I am willing to try different cables, what cable would you suggest as interlink?

NBS is a brand that was popular in the ninetees, but nowadays people seem to be a lot more negative about the brand. Anyway I like what the black label PC is doing for my CD player.
The Omega extreme loudspeaker cable is known for it's neutrality.

Thanks for the welcome guys,

Olaf

I have only heard the Pass lab xa 60.5 monoblocks and the ones powering the Sony speakers at RMAF in 2010. Both auditions left me impressed and wanting to go back and listen a little longer. Would love to hear a pair of the xa 160.5 powering the Magico Q3.

I had Shunyata Anaconda's. I've replaced them with MIT Oracle Matrix Rev 90's. Night and day difference. Far more detail and sound stage is much larger.

Hi Adam,

yesterday I was able to borrow a MIT Shotgun S2.3 balanced interconnect, probably not in the same league as the cable you are using. Not a big difference with my Golden Cross, a little more volume in the high frequencies, soundstage width is the same, but the resolution is better on the Cardas also mids are favourable with the Cardas. To my ears anyway.

Next week I might be able to borrow a Stealth Sakra balanced interconnect, way above what I want to pay for a cable, but the experiment should be great.

Olav

MIT Shotguns are very pedestrian IMO.Not anywhere near the same league as the cables being discussed here
Now the Stealth's, thats a whole different ballgame!
