Q5 is definitely harder to drive than Sashas. Q3 is probably easier to drive because the impedance doesn't drop as low as the Sasha at a difficult phase angle. Fundamentally Wilson and Magico sound different and since everyone is different, everyone has different and clear preferences...

The Q5 is in my shopping list, but I am not sure if ARC Ref 250 can handle her. Has anybody heard this combination?

Q3 is very easy to drive, on some CD that recorded loud. with volume display on ARC preamp show "1 " I got a fairly loud sound. swapping Sophia3 in I need to increase volume by 10 steps more to get same loudness.
Good thing about Q3 is that while it is easy to drive, it can accept any punishment.
I've heard it pushed hard by Soulution 700 in bridged mode with ease, no strain.

Volume level with the Anni at 1? That's a pretty efficient speaker! With the magico mini minimum with be at the 40 level.

I have Q5's and they are hard to drive, but when they are driven properly, you will be greatly rewarded. I had McIntosh MC601's. Slow somewhat sluggish and not very dynamic as these speakers are known to be. I replaced them with Pass Labs X600.5's. Night and day. These speakers need high current amps.

It isn't that hard to hear good gear. You just need an overnight bag, airline tickets and a plan.

The other day I was able to listen to a pair of Q3s driven by a Soulution 530 with an MSB digital front end. It was without a doubt the best music I have ever heard. I was literally slack-jawed.
