Don't forget about the yellow "sport" model! You were the king when you had this one

I went to work for Sony in 1984 and the Walkman was still just getting off the ground making its way to mass market status. It grew exponentially when the Japanese finally added FM radio. It was hard for them to conceive of a country with FM radio stations in large markets were numbering in the teens. Japan had two or three choices in FM broadcasts at the time so cassette, in their estimation, was all that was needed. I can't tell you how hard the US marketing groups fought for radio to be added.

The young lady in the video who keeps punching the Walkman looking for the touch screen is a riot!

Good times....wait, does this make me old? Yep!

That was my last cassette walkman

That thing was unbelievable for me. It would jump tracks by finding the blank in the tape, it had a remote control and it was extra slim. I loved it and I believe it still lies in the drawer somewhere.

Then I upgraded to this

when you had this, you were the king. It had a LCD, you could record your CD with the optical in...

Finally, before entering the iPod fold, I bought this one

The very first mp3 player. You had 32mb of memory which you could double with a flash card. You would upload the song using the parallel port on your computer. The song you encoded in the crappiest format to make an album fit or downloaded with Napster over the 56k connection (it took almost over an hour to download 30mb).
