On a serious note, I am really loving the MC250 with the Tannoy. The bass is a bit looser compared to the grip one would get from, say, the MC501 (no surprise) but I find that bit of looseness to be very pleasant. Right now my system is to my ears like my favorite pair of jeans is to my, ahem, butt. May not be the height of audio/fashion but it's sooooo comfortable and pleasant.

Nope. My Shindo's still here -- just taking a WELL-DESERVED break. I am not rushing into anything. Just thinking about it, and trying something different -- at least for a while.

inspiring read, admiring the openness about your journey.
It is all just gear, hobby and enjoyment, there is nothin too loose no contest to win.
still I find this playing field of swapping gear and trying out nice part of the game.
for me it has narrowed down to poweramp and speakers. like to keep that part as a playing field. the power / speaker match is indeed a big part in the equation.

To have a great tube and solidstate poweramp(s) at hand or even having both stand by to just pick on a certain day or even mood gives much fun. no argue, leaving the contest, the pro / contra.
Just the sheer enjoyment.

Sell it! Finally some used gear to show up on the market. Will you post the Cortese here on AA? Also maybe touch base with Jeff Dorgay... I think he was interested in some gear a while back.
