I've always loved the LS50s. They sounded brilliant. Easy to listen to.

But I recently had the chance to pit them against the DALI Epicon 2s. Was surprised at just how much darker the LS50s were in their presentation. I never noticed this before when I listened to them on their own.

Still amazing speakers tho.

I really liked my LS50's. Great little speaker and I would have loved to keep them. Unfortunately, at this point I can not afford to keep two sets of speakers ... and the Music Culture speakers are just too good to pass up.

I wanted to start saving for a pair of KEF Reference speakers but after getting the MC's that thought is no longer in my mind (not to say it won't come back )...

Anyone have any ideas whether the LS50s with an Arcam A19 and Velodyne Subwoofer would be a decent system?

I upgraded to the KEF Reference 5's with the 4C center. I have them powered by a Bryston 4b3 and they sound amazing. And they get REALLY loud while remaining crystal clear.

Nice... I have never heard the Ref 5s. I have heard the Ref 3s and loved them. I was thinking of eventually getting Ref 1s. They would work fine on my current stands (which are really heavy duty). In my room I just do not have space for larger floor standing (let alone the budget for them ).

I've been thinking of getting a pair of Ref 1's for my main floor living room and pairing them with a JL F112v1 I'm not using. My first exposure to this reference series was via the Ref 1's. I walked by a listening room and heard a hell of a sound coming from 2 little bookshelf speakers. I was blown away.

If you're ever in MN, swing by and I'll show you the 5's.

Very interesting. I would prefer the walking around vs having to sit to appreciate.
