Default Wavac Reference Pre, Phono Stage and Mono Power Amps

Saw this complete Wavac Reference PR-T1 Pre-amp, LCR-X2 Phono Stage and the Mono HE833v1.3 Power Amps.

Simply gorgeous and they have been traded in for a complete Kondo Pre Power combo. Very mint and new! I suppose at this stage, its all a matter of preference and taste.

Seeing them invokes a lot of memories, where it seems like yesterday when I was mesmerised by their looks, build and performance. Just like to share their beauty here.

Hey JSCC-

Great pics !

Did you by chance get to hear the Wavac system (I guess you used to own this or other Wavac gear ?), or just see it only ?

I have the 805m, which are also beautiful (and sound great too)-

A friend has the HE-833 ver.3 as pictured- They are real 'heaters'- He says they raise the temperature in his room 10 degrees F-

Do you know what Kondo gear this stuff was traded for by chance ?

I wonder what speakers this fellow uses ?

Have you heard/owned Shindo gear too ?

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

I nearly owned the Pre/Power combo but stopped short due to pricing does not meet my expectations. These are beautiful stuff and I suppose there must be a ver high desire for the Kondo stuff that made the owner switched over. The combo he went for are the M77 Pre and the Ongaku Power.

As I dont know the owner, I have no idea what speakers he owned but I suppose they have to belong to the high to very high efficiency speakers for the Ongaku to work their magic.

I have not heard Shindo gears but have read fascinating reviews about it. Maybe one day, I'll go to the local dealer to have an audition.

Cheers!

Unhappy

I am in a real dilemma. Ordering a pair of Wavac HE 833 Mk1.3 WITHOUT audition. Only one on line review. A couple of acquaintances in Singapore speak highly of them. I think I am getting a good deal coz I get to trade in my Quads and CJ pre and power. Fingers crossed.

Hi Pradeep,

Was away for biz meeting and so was not able to reply your question.

No, I did not audition the version you mentioned. You wont be wrong on your purchase. These are great amps!

Cheers!
