Wasnt her present watch given by your father?
Offer to have the watch cleaned and the leather band replaced to keep the memory of your father alive
OR ask your mother what she would like?

A really nice watch is nice but will she actually wear it
My GF doesnt wear hers
But she wears a diamond necklace I gave her

The Cartier "Ronde" series is also nice, fairly simple and elegant classic look with leather band. http://www.cartier.us/en-us/collecti...s-cartier.html

That's a great sentiment. Some of the watches that have been suggested, though beautiful, are manual. Does your mother want to deal with winding/setting if she does not wear it for a couple of days? My mother prefers quartz movements for that reason. Change the battery every year or two and forget it.

Lots of great suggestions

A lady reverso is the perfect watch for any women. Simple but perfect

A Patek Calatrava is also a very special watch

So, when you flip it over it becomes a Patek Calatrava? That is a trick.
