I had a La-z-boy for years and while it was very comfortable, I found that I didn't like having anything around my head while listening. I've since replaced it with a small "snuggler" sofa with a low back, and I'm much happier. Admittedly, said sofa hasn't seen as much snuggling as I'd intended, but we live in hope!

Design Within Reach offers a larger version of the Eames Lounger. Same chair, just proportioned for heights in the modern world - it's not the 1950s anymore and people are taller than they were at the time of the original design. Might be worth a look for tall people. I am 5'7", so the original proportions work fine for me.

Eames also has a "tall" version

Default Ekornes Stressless Nordic Classic

After reading about the Ekornes Stressless chairs here, I visited a showroom on Saturday. One was better than the next. I particularly liked the Nordic Classic, large size. Very comfortable!

I have had a Stressless for nearly 20 years and it still looks like new.

We've had our two Ekornes Stressless chairs for many years and love them. One of the nice features is being able to re-stuff them. After years of use the seats and backs became compressed. A quick trip to the fabric store for new batting and the issue was solved. Great product.

I got an Eames chair about 5 months ago, and was worried at first after reading reviews that i might not like it. Turns out my concerns were not realised and i have very much fallen in love with my genuine Eames chair.

I am 6'1 220lb so not exactly a small guy. .

Its probably not for everyone, and its a big purchase to make without first testing one but do not be put off if you are a big bloke because I fit in mine just fine.

I have two genuine Charles Eames chairs, one for me and one for my wife. Apart from superb listening chairs they are perfect for relaxing in after a workout & shower, a few times we've gone to sleep but feel great afterwards. I appreciate the awsome craftmanship too, to us they are worth every penny.

I have a collection of original chairs and lounge chairs, my favorite for listening is my 277 Auckland made by Cassina, I have it in matt black leather extra, the headrest has 8 height setting adjustments. I have it so the headrest is lower than my ears and it is very comfortable and does interfere with the sound.
I also have a Eames lounge chair new size by Vitra, but the Auckland is more comfortable for me, I am 6.1 in hieght.
