Default Lilium

I'm fortunate to home audition the Lilium. Definitely a big stepup from the amati futura. I find the mid bass lean a bit lean though, which is not the case with any Sonus faber which normally tend to some warmth in the mid bass/lower mid area. Overall, I find the sound on the bright side, with the tweeter calling attention to itself. This is a brand new unit, with about 30 hours playing time. Is this leanness in the mid bass and brightness a break in issue or has Sonus faber finally moved away from the classic Sonus sound that is still very evident in the warmer sounding Futura?

During a recent demo (not in-home) of the Lilium's I did hear any leanness in the speakers. What amps were you pairing them with?

Wow. That should handle them nicely.

Hi Dafos,

I would love to see some in person photos of them.
Please post if you are able. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts after they get a good 100 hours on them.

Thanks for your report.
After 30 hours I would'n jump to a conclusion. The over all experience maybe right, but it will sound more detailed, free, natural and with better punch after some 100h. It will evolve up to about 800h, is my experience.

Your experience is based on what model?

I'm guessing this is the new SF sound. A departure from the Serblin period.

Not good nor bad just different.

What comes to Sonus Faber... SF Amati Futura, Olympica III, Olympica II, SF Toy, Guarneri Memento and only just 100h with The SF (Fenice), still getting better, and other speaker brands.

My experience of SF is not that the tweeter is calling to attention to it selves. That's not the typical SF sound, but not broken in this is a thing that can most likely appear.
It can most likely also be due to the acoustic problems in the room.

This best describes the direction taken by Sonus Faber, specially with the Lilium. Since what I was hoping for was a Futura on steroids, it didn't meet my aural expectations.
