I have had my MC275 Version VI since August. What surprised me was how much better the base definition was compared to the ARC D70 it replaced. A month later I added a C2500, and last week a pair of B & W 803 Diamonds. The best sound I have had in my life. I started audio in the 1960s with a Dynaco SCA 35 built from a kit.

Back in June I bought a C2500 pre, liked it so much that ordered a 275. Four weeks later I got got my new 275 on a Friday. I liked it so much that I emailed my dealer Saturday to order me another one. Monday I turned on the 275 and it did the usual relay click and then nothing, no tube light up sequence or anything. Fuse is good just not working.

Took it back to the dealer and requested that my 2 new 275's have consecutive serial numbers.

4 weeks later on a Friday my dealer calls and says my new amps will be here Monday! Yea.

The next day Saturday, my C2500 no longer can see my Mac computer. Tried everything to get it to work but no go. At least the analogue section still worked. Monday morning talked with Chuck at Mc and he said take the pre back to the dealer.

Get to the dealer and they had another C2500 and my 2 new amps ready for me. Since then no problems at all! And I got consecutive serial numbers on the amps.

FYI the turntable is Roxan Xerxes 10 with a Lyra Kleos cart. Speakers are original Cremona not the M wired up with Bluejeans cable. All tubes upgraded to Gold Lions.
Mikee.......Welcome to Audio Aficionado.

It is good to hear your dealer and McIntosh took good care of you. That's the way to develop long term customers.

V7Sport73,
Having the 601's, the MC275V, and the MC2301, I think you'll find the MC2301 a great combination of characteristics that balances the sound of the 275 and 601. Tube midrange magic and SS bass drive and articulation in one package.

I visited a dealer today to listen to a pair of MC275's mono on Martin Logan Summit X speakers. Switched back and forth with the 275's and 601's, to be honest I'm not sure which I liked best.

As I stated in my earlier post I heard a pair of 275's bridged with Summit X's just yesterday and I wasn't so sure about them. Well today the dealer called me and said they had realized a problem with the system and would like me to come back and listen again. WOW !!!, when it's right it's right on. The sound with the 275's driving the Summit X's was amazing. I have only heard a demo or two in a dealers show room that I enjoyed........this one gave me goose bumps deluxe.
