Hi KKF1,

I don't have that issue of HiFi News.
Please tell us more about the review.
Thanks a lot!

As a Q5 owner, if these things are as power hungry as the Q5's, give a lot of thought to the amps you currently have or you will be spending A LOT more money!!! Don't for one second think they will sound as great in your home as in the demo room being powered by Boulder etc....

The fact lists 89db sensitivity. Not to bad. What do you think is minimum?

Looks like a tough load. I have a Dartzeel that is good for 160 at 4 ohms but would not probably drive these.

I saw a dealer post a YouTube video of Dartzeel driving S5's. I know you can't tell from YouTube, but there seemed to be some synergy going on there.

i heard them driven by Devialet amp (12keuros), and it sounded great. Even better with 2 Devialet in parallel. So you don't need to spend a lot of money to get a good sound with the S5. They work also very well with the AR Ref 250

Car commander,

The 108s are stronger than you give them credit for
I've heard them with the S5, and it was incredible. Very, very impressive speaker, for the size and price. Puts everything else I heard at the same price range to shame.
I've also heard the 108s with the Q7, and I'm currently using mine with a pair of Q3. Much easier load than my Dynaudios (Evidence Temptation).
Never got my 108 to even blink with the Q3, even at very loud levels.
