[QUOTE=ArthurPE;87241]

it's a beautiful thing to have an engineer running a company like that...
US car mfgs should take note...

Hey! I can't speak for auto dealership they have there own issues! As a GM Body Structure Engineer I've(we) have taken great pride on the products produce and manufactured! I'm always amazed that we always get a back hand! When non US company's get a free pass! Least we don't LIE when our products CAN KILL YOU! I guess you bought into that CRAP about the pedal issue. Let me see if I understand.... If my C2300 shocks me every time I turned it on, third degree burns!? McIntosh gives me a line like " It's caused by the speakers being toe-in 5 deg too much".

I've own GM and BMW cars both have their quirks!! Both are fine pieces of engineering and manufacturing products. The oddity THAT you(US car haters) accepts is dependent on the label!! I love my McIntosh gear! Their service and tech support just plain SUCK!

To make my point when I take my BMW for service to fix the same THING again! The service dept gives me brand new car as a loaner, then polishes my shoes to make sure that I'm happy during the stressful time. Sure I'm always going to say nice things about them!! DUH!! GM product had problems, the dealer made crawl through broken glass on my belly to fix a warranty items. It's the SERVICE, because if it's MAN MADE it will fail, it's how you treat your customers!!

I am not really sure what all that was about, but I can say from my experience, this statement you made -

"I love my McIntosh gear! Their service and tech support just plain SUCK!"

was very very far from my actual experience.
Their service has been absolutely excellent.
For example, Chuck Hinton, and Ron C are always very helpful, to say the least!!

Chuck is awesome - perhaps its the backlog of the actual service department that sucks. I hear nightmares of stuff just sitting there for ages.

You might be onto something there.
I have heard of people waiting a long time to get their gear back.

See this is point! Wide strokes comments are made by the minority, they become gospel for the majority! I've just grown weary of baseless bashing of the US Auto Companies. Still... I've talk to McIntosh promise made by those you listed. Yet my MDA1000 still is quirky!! Yes.... He had a nice time! I'd love a chance for a tour! Should had left it at that!! NO MANUFACTURE IS PERFECT!

Default Mcintosh has been an A+ for me.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with my questions for Chuck Hinton over at Mcintosh regarding my equipment. Ron C. has been quite helpful a few times too. As a matter of fact, they are outstanding in my book. My local dealer also treats me with the upmost courtesy and with a sence of urgency when it comes to my Mcintosh equipment.

Sorry to hear your so unhappy with Mc Ken.

I was treated great when I went on the factory tour in 2008. How many companies would let a employee spend 1 1/2 hours giving a tour instead of doing more productive work ? When I had a problem with my new MC207 and was not getting anywhere with the dealer I purchased it from, it only took a phone call to Chuck to have a brand new MC207 sent out within a few days. I was a little annoyed at the dealer that I had to pay the $150 to send the bad MC207 back to Mcinotosh but after the new amp was in my house I was happy. I am very happy with my Mcintosh gear. Some may call me a fanboy but if the components I have did not sound great I would not be a fan.
