I'm not sure if your refering to my current unit or the old one... But generally I feel this one is good to go.
But, I certainly will need to play with it and get to know it better this weekend. But it certainly did have fairly quiet pops or ticks when mute was pressed a few minutes after it's very first fire up. And again you would need to wait a 60 seconds or more before muting the system again to here another noise(like the offending noise needs to build up to a certain level before it can release audibly). And it did offer another on of those pops/ticks/quirks when navigating the installer menu. But for the rest of the night the issue seemed to have worked itself out and disappeared entirely (possible burn in effect?). Even after shutting down and booting up again(in the past the problem would come back loud and proud after every power up). However the tick/pop while it shouldn't really be there, it's now something you sort of need to listen for. And you wouldn't at all hear any noise if your not navigating menu's or pressing mute during the first 10 minutes of operation.. where as on occasion last time around I thought I might blow some diamond tweeters. And in any event that perticular issue is far far far less worry some then it was the first time around. I'm quite pleased thus far. I am curious though if anyone can duplicate the simple experiment of turning the mx150 on... wait about 1-2 minutes... with a light listening volume of say 15 to 20 (doesn't really matter)... and press mute on the remote control. It might help me figure out once and for all if the now very slight problem is my own or more common? All other previously found faults seem to be completely resolved.

I have had PooBah's original MX150 in my system for a week now. As much as I would like to verify that it has an issue I hate to report that it has been flawless. I have connected it in about as many ways as I can imagine but still no luck. No pops, no noises, all modes play as designed, etc. I have used a mix of amps from the50s, 60s, 70s, 90's and current. Sometimes all at the same time!
Power control or leaving the amps on, volume turned up or down, there is never a peep out of any speaker at any volume on mute or turn-on / turn-off. Balanced, unbalanced or mixed, does not seem to have any effect. Tube amps or transistor makes no difference. Dead quiet I set the system up as bi-amp front left-right crossed over at 800 Hz and low cut at 40. 500 watts on the bass mids and a Mc275 on top. All crossover points are LR-4Th order. There is another 400 watt watt amp for the passive HT2 sub. Center and surrounds are crossed over at 80 and 120 respectively and have their own amps. RP blends all of the dissimilar speakers and amps together with themost coherent movie and music sound I have experienced in my room. Phono sounds great too, feed by my KAB SL1200 with Denon 301 using MPC-1 as a step up. All is well that ends well I guess! Thanks,
