Default Contour 20's......

I must say....they are sounding quite good with my MC452 and c2300 right now. Can't wait until the first 100 hours have gone by...and these suckers are broken in!

Scott - They look really nice too, love the finish on them, the Contour line is excellent.

Great looking speakers.
What stands are those?

Congrats on the Contour 20s. I heard them at Audio Visions SF at the end of last year. They were impressive. I have the older series Contours, the S3.4 floorstanders. I upgraded the tweeters in mine to the Esotar 2 tweeter.

Just a word of advice: your speakers will probably take 300 hours to fully run in, not 100 hours, and they may start to sound "bad" between 100 and 200-250 hours. THIS IS NORMAL for Dyns. By 300 hours, they will "snap in" and start to sound really wonderful. Just be ready when they start to sound badly for about 100 hours or so...this is normal for Dyns and in particular the Esotar tweeter.

Congrats. The C20 in Gray Oak is stunning. With my C30s, I found the sound improved considerably over the first 70 hours. Once you hit 100 hours, they sound damn good. I’m 6 months into the journey and remain very happy. One thing I have found that rings true is Dyns still LOVE power! When I lay into the C30 with MC601s I am quite amazed just how strong the bass is in my large listening space, not bad at all for 7” drivers. I’m a believer in McIntosh and Dynaudio matching. Cheers.

Saw the same finish on another model Dynaudios, an active set of towers. They looked and sounded top notch, yours look great, stands as well. Good luck with them.

Very nice! I heard the Contour 20's at RMAF 2016 and was impressed with the strength of the bass for a stand mounted speaker.

Did you have Focus 160's before?

Indeed I did. Loved those monitors....but these Contours are a definite step up!

I have Focus 160's in our place in the mountains. I feed them plenty of power from an NAD Masters Series M3 integrated amp (180 watts per channel). Perhaps I will replace them someday with the Contour 20's, or even Contour 30's as there is not much room to place a sub.

I have Excites in two other rooms up there, including a small 5.1 home theater system.
