For example, I have asked on forums before for advice on the best recording of, say Bach's Brandenburg concerto ... only to be dissatisfied with the interpretations suggested to me by someone who swore up and down it was the finest recording and orchestra he'd ever heard... meantime, I stumble across a great recording (Florilegium) all on my own by just grinding thru a dozen versions on Qobuz and Tidal... end up downloading a copy off NativeDSD...
You think you had it tough with that one.... "In 1721, J.S. Bach dedicated six orchestral pieces to Margrave Christian Ludwig of Brandenburg, ostensibly in response to a commission, but more likely as a sugarcoated job application. These pieces display a variety of styles, influences, and musical preoccupations and were probably not conceived of as a set. However, all of them share in Bach's great talent for absorbing new styles (among them the Italian concerto grosso) and then expanding and improving upon them. At any rate, the Margrave never thanked Bach, paid him a fee, staged a performance of the works, or offered him a position. Such was life, even for Bach."

And Bach still fared well compared to one of his biggest influences... and my all time favorite composer Vivaldi... such a sad story.

“Il Prete Rosso”... Being a composer or a man of the arts in general, did not necessarily equate to a comfortable living and so it was Vivaldi died of bad health and in poverty. Wasn’t it last century (1930’s) that his work was even recovered from obscurity?

yep... so ironic. Sort of reminds me of the story of James Jamerson, bass player behind most of the significant Motown recordings of the 60's and 70's... died destitute, has bass "The funk machine" stolen from his bedside, never to be seen again (probably at some guys house who bought it from a pawn shop and has no idea what it's value is).

I'm going to look into these too. I have had this problem with super heavy power cables that pull away from equipment that is new and fairly secure connection. The one that pulls down is currently supported by a rolled up face cloth, and the one the pulls to the side with a piece of string tied to the rack. It works, but it is not the most cosmetically sophisticated solution.

I just wanted to follow up with you guys on this small shim gizmo. I ordered a bag and found that they work quite well. Some inlets benefit from them and others don’t. But on the ones that have a bigger gap these really work.

We are considering ordering a few thousand and shipping them with all our power cables.

RECOMMENDED

From what I heard Shunyata has received record levels of orders for V2 cables of all kinds, the new Everests and other products. Friends who have purchased and my own experience with 2 AES and 2 CLOCK50 V2s tells me they are building and shipping cables ahead of the projected dates given to customers so Shunyata obviously working at max speed to keep up with record volumes.

Yes, I did have a few weeks wait for all my PCs but it was worth it!
