pretty much normal for Kerbeck Craig, given the surplus Serge mentioned I wouldn't be surprised to see 20%

resale against msrp, for sure, but I suspect against deep discounted pricing it will be only marginally worse that the C6-C7 transition. Besides, the unknown remains as to where and how the mid-engine will be priced and marketed vs. the front engine. Remember the majority of the Corvette market is not at the 150k level

I was just offered 80 percent of what I paid for Z06 on a 2019 Porsche 911 trade. I have 16,000 miles on my car .The 2019 911 listed for 159 k with ceramic brakes, Burmeister sound system, lots of extras, full leather, carbon fiber additions etc.. They offered it for 132 k when I was leaving . I haven’t decided yet. Tell me which car is getting crushed in value . I went in to find out about the 2020 911 car as it’s a new platform.

Getting that much on a trade is great. You must have bought it right. Not sure why the dealer was so quick to offer such a discount on a 2019 911 when allocations are next to ZERO. It's going to be many more months before the 2020s hit the showroom floor.

159K list for a base 911 is really high (yes I know the ceramic brakes are a $8,000 +/- option. Must be fully optioned which why is they are trying to move it at discount. Most Porsche dealers are staying put at full list with a few doing 5% to 6% discount at best.

If the car you are looking at has all the options you want and it's not an odd-ball, I would jump on that deal.

Good luck!

A 911 with all those options (nearly $45k worth) will certainly get crushed in resale value overall, that's a given. Hence the margin of giving you "extra" on your trade in.

So much power that it is bending and twisting the chassis... Perfect car for the street and the average buyer.

In another decade or two at most, all these new "performance" cars at "premiums" will disappear like the dinosaurs. Sadly the Millennials are just not into cars that much.

The general trend will clearly be into an economical mode of transportation for the younger generation (ride sharing/hailing services) and by far the most important factor will be the "autonomy" of self driving cars if they do own one. They don't have the same passion for driving.

Can't say that I blame them either, the population keeps growing, the traffic jams will only get worse, the cities are only becoming more difficult to keep, park and maintain a car. Under those circumstances sitting behind the wheel is a pain, not pleasure.

"59 percent of millennials say they would rather spend their time doing more productive tasks than driving".

Hmmm.....someone on, or the chassis team, didn't do their homework. This should be able to be modeled via a transfer function...

Driving a car , a motorcycle has always given me a feeling of freedom. Self driving cars are the opposite of this. I’m not saying it wouldn’t come in handy if you were on a long trip or if you had a few drinks, I enjoy my cars and bikes. Millennials don’t have money yet, they have debt. People with no money don’t buy luxury items.
