Default Attraction (Russian) 2017

Just watched this movie. Fantastic sci-fi movie. It is in Russian language, if I find a version with English subtitles on youtube, I'll post it here. It is a Sony Pictures production by Fyeodor Bonderchuk.

Trailer. https://youtu.be/Qcov4WPcTE4

This is different than the George Clooney and Sandra Bullock Gravity, correct?

Just watched the trailer, looks pretty good. I actually have the director's other film, Stalingrad on Blu-Ray and really like that movie.

Just a couple of comments in general:

1) You'd like to think that after piloting a spacecraft accurately across all that distance that aliens this intelligent could land without crashing into buildings and,
2) why do almost all alien pics like this have to sentient beings that are hostile?

Makes me long for Michael Rennie in The Day The Earth Stood Still...

Don't want to give it away in case someone wants to watch it but it's Quite the opposite, it is we who were hostile towards an advanced race. Outstanding Sci-Fi flick.

I think the actual meaning of the title translated to English is "Attraction" not "Gravity", it is a similar word in Russian.

Ah, as it was in The Day the Earth Stood Still.

As I mentioned, I really like this director. I wouldn't actually OWN a copy of Stalingrad otherwise. I really liked the way he created the relationships between the characters in Stalingrad. Lot of heart in that movie; I love how all the guys love and are so protective of the main female character.

Stalingrad was a good movie too.

The day the Earth stood still... Is that from the 50's? Not many movies before then with the alien visitor topic. It was a bit of a risqué topic back then.

It came out back in January 2017 so I don't think so. It is on youtube but I can not seem to find a version with English subtitles.
