This thread is funny.

I'd still take an earthquake every so often (that you can actually feel) rather than 800 tornadoes a year, or 6 hurricanes a year, or floods, or....

Your comment is funny, being that you're named after a volcano! This quake has been felt for miles in every direction.

There was a 5.8 in Southern Colorado this morning at 5 AM local time. About 200 miles from me but I didn't notice it and I was already awake for the day.

I grew up in tornado country (Northern Indiana/Southwest Michigan). Give me the tornados. You at least know where they are and when they are coming. No warning at all with an earthquake.

I was at the bank at the time. Felt like about 20 large trucks were rumbling down K Street at the same time. Lasted about 15-20 seconds. No one I know of is hurt.

This is the only thing that worries me.

If you aren't use to earthquakes they will scare the shit out of you. The concept of the earth shaking violently is a little hard to grasp.

I hope all of you in the area are okay.

If it's your first quake experience, you'll remember this one. I imagine all kinds of thoughts were rattling thru your noggin', trying to figure out what was happening.

It is, first I thought I was getting dizzy. Then I looked at my 91 year old Dad and he's looking at me like what the heck are you doing. Me! I'm not doing anything but surfing AA like a good little boy . Then my Mom comes running out of her room .

It's all good now
