Default For all you Jazz Aficionados - Just Saw Joe Lovano and Dave Douglas...

...at Scullers in Boston. Great gig

Lovano and Douglas have put together a new quintet called Sound Prints, comprised of:

Joe Lovano - Tenor Sax
Dave Douglas - Trumpet
Joey Baron - Drums
James Genus - Bass
Lawrence Fields - Piano

Great time and the live shows always remind me that our stereos can't even come close to reproducing the dynamic range of real live music.

Great set

Wow!
Terrific musicians!
I saw Dave Douglas last summer in Antwerp. He's great and a very pleasant person.

I have to say it was a great gig. The first three sets were edgy free-form jazz (a bit abstract) but propulsive and dynamic. The back half of the gig locked in with some melody and harmony imbued explorations. All original songs with the exception of one reinterpretation of Wayne Shorter's Infant Eyes. All in all, it was great to see one of the top tenor sax and trumpet players of the modern jazz world

Cyril...sounds like a great show, wish I could have been there. There's nothing like live music.

Never has seen Lovano live, would love to do that! His most recent album "Bird Songs" got a lot of favourable reviews.
