I've been a subscriber for several years and have had a handful that wouldn't play due to surface scratches. Interestingly not a single BD has had a problem, perhaps the newness...not sure.

When I used to rent from Blockbuster they were usually dirty, but the Netflix disc's always seem to arrive very clean and without issue.

I just use bad breath and a beer stained t-shirt. Now on my own discs, I use this $100 a bottle spray that my local dealer sold me (yes, it is legal )
