Just looking at the pictures, could it be over tightening of the internal cable holder where the 2 screws just ripped through the plastic C on each side?

This is what I suspect too.
Other than heat. The stress from over tightened screws
Could be the cause. But pieces that were not related to
Two long screws at front also disintegrated too, the pieces that clamp the cable. But those also have two shorter screw.

I asked, and asked.
They did not say anything.

And I somehow feel that the cable is entirely new.
The serial is same however. But I don’t feel it sticky to the touch anymore. My cable was sticky may be due to hot climate. This one is not.
