You may be getting some diffraction off the front of the table. Try moving the speakers forward enough to get the their baffle 2-3" forward of the table.

Soundstage came back nice an big after removed those table that in the middle of the speakers. I think it will do the same if I move the speakers up front so nothing is between the two speakers but I have a limit space.
