Howie...according to user comments (or reviewer comments at shows as there are no official reviews yet), both the Ref 150 and Ref 250 preserve the traditional ARC sound (neutral, transparent, resolving, dynamic and holographic) but also add more flesh (or as Serge calls it "meat on the bone"), improved bottom end heft and articulation, and finally boosts macro dynamic performance. All of which sounds good to me

Cyril.......Good read. This is the first Audio Research tube amplifier to grab my interest in a long while. I like the looks of the interior, the choice of tubes, the output power level (conservative I'm sure), and I like the reintroduced AR meter on the face. I may have to give a pair of these amps an audition.

If they sound like a REF150 with more power, should be fantastic.

Hi,
Beautiful photos. I am currently in the process of changing my Krell 700cx to the Arc Ref150 

I was just wondering what the cable elevators are that are being used? Do they make a difference? I am using Transparent Audio Reference MM2 cables throughout.

Many thanks
Marc.

Marck1973...welcome to AA

I believe the cable elevators are the Shunyata Darkfield cable elevators (Shunyata Research: Accessories: DarkField Cable Elevator). As to whether they make a difference, I have no clue as I don't use any in my system. The pics are from one of Audio Research's listening rooms that was posted in the preview from The Audio Beat that I posted. I hope that helps Marck
