Wow. What do you think that means?

Holding off on speaker purchase.... But... Money wants our of the pocket... And my wife said... Isn't it time we upgraded the speakers.... (I know but body snatchers is acceptable if they come out of the pod and want to upgrade your kit!)

I talked to John last week and he said that he has been working on a woofer with his vendor and they have yet to produce one that meets his needs but yes he is working on it. I would be nice if it there were to be a upgrade kit too. I would think its would be much different than just a woofer upgrade, like crossover and maybe even a modified enclosure too.

Ken,

I, sincerely, hope JD doesn't simply upgrade the parts of the 096, but makes a special product. I'm not interested in simply upgrading parts. The O96 is sweet. But if he is taking it up in performance, then blow my socks off!

I run the Cortese into a pair of LM 755i's.
Not Solovoxes, but a single driver crossover-less speaker in a slightly unconventional box.
Great combo.

I have had my Solovox speakers for a little over three years. I have heard them with several amps (mostly Shindo) and narrowed my amp selection to the Shindo Cortese and the Wavelength Cardinal X2 monoblock 300Bs. Both pairings were musically excellent; I found the Cardinals a little "darker" and that appealed to me. And a great deal on the Cardinals $-wise was another factor. I went with the Cardinals and continue to be very pleased. But I could very easily have gone with the Cortese!

Best Regards,

Steven

Thanks, Steven. Coincidentally, I have a pair of Cardinals on the Solovoxes now. I hope to get a chance to hear the Corteses as well so I can see if my impressions match yours. Appreciate your response!
