hi, I've just finished my audition at home of the ref 150. The sound of the ref 150 was satisfying and not fatigueing. I've decided to get the ref 250 that i've had the chance to hear at the listening room of our local dealer, I was gracefully turned down the audition of the ref 250 at home. Enatai252 is right about the ref 150 and ref 250 but i decided to get the ref 250 for more power. Maybe jpgr4blu should try the ref 250 just to be sure what would sound right in his system and just as Ritmo said the two amps are both terrific amplifiers

Did he have to use that 3k worth of power cord to do the review? I had never heard of Sain Line before. Now I am wondering what am missing?

Any one out there have this power cord? Does it really give more of the more than what I am getting out of my Ref 150 with stock power cord??

I don't know much about the Sain Line PCs. I can tell you, however, that my ARC gear improved with the addition of Shunyata PCs.

Thanks,
Mike

I use stock cords into dedicated 20 amp outlets. Prefer to invest in better I/C and speaker cables

I read somewhere that ARC uses the Sain Line cords up in Lake Wobegon.

I understand they also use Shunyata.

I think the Sain cords are the main ones now in use now at ARC. They are careful, however to not alienate any other companies. They certainly used Shunyata products for many years.
I am using Lessloss on my Ref5se and Ref150. They are an improvement over stock cords. Not all aftermarket cords are an improvement. I did not find the Copperheads to improve the sound, at least in my system. Ymmv.
I would love to try the Sain cords. Not sure if they have a trial period. $1500 is a chunk of cash for something I have not heard, by a fairly obscure company.

What for? They don't use their own power cords to test their own equipment??

Microsoft learnt the lesson with their Vista OS. They developed it on yet to be released Intel processors with multi cores and mega cache. When Vista hit the street, it was so slow nobody wanted to use it. MS was very surprised!

Maybe this explains why some products sound so bad, you wonder. May be they were tested with megabuck power conditioners, power cords and interconnects in super tuned sound rooms with megabuck source equipment!

Would it be asking too much, if they were to design better filter that at least the power cords would not make so much of a difference?
