Wow!! I think he likes it.

A great review despite the fact that the Marten speakers seem to be a difficult speaker to drive. People who match this amp with the right speaker/s will probably not have the minor problems the reviewer encountered.

at half the price difference of ref 150 (13k) and ref 250 (26k) is there a big or just a minimum difference in overall sound between the two amps for those who know if I may ask thanks in advance

I have both and the 2 sound very similar. The Ref150 will suffice in most rooms and speaker combos. The 250s allow for a little less constriction at higher spls...but in 90% of my listening sessions...the 150 would provide very similar results

thank you very much enatai252 for the enlightening reply. right now i have the ref 150, of which my local dealer allowed me to audition at home. The size of my listening room is 16 feet width X 23 feet length X 9 feet height. I will just listen to it now and after several days might tell if it is sufficient in my room. thanks again

I have a room similar in dimension to ogabs. When I used a Ref 110 in my system, I wondered if I could get more slam from a pair of 210s so I auditioned them and found some noticeable improvements in imaging and dimensionality, but not very much, if at all improvement in bottom end and mid-bass power where the Sashas just can't get enough.
Now have Ref 150 but I am unable to audition 250s. Enatai 252 seems to find that there is a difference, but not a huge one, between 150 and 250s, sort of what I felt between their predecessors. Wonder if ogabs will feel the need to audition Ref 250s. For him--I hope not. For me--I hope so ------there's no such thing as too much information.

I've listened to both amps; however, never in the same setting nor same speakers.
The Ref 150 does a fantastic job with the Wilson Sashas - very balanced and musical experience. Enough power to drive the bottom end with Jazz and Classical music. Very natural and non fatiguing mids to high end frequencies. I've experienced the Ref 250s in various set ups. First, with the Vandies 7 in two different occasions. Both times I was very impressed with how nice these speakers sounded with the Ref 250s. Now, keep in mind the 7s have an internal amp to drive the bottom end drivers. The other instance, at RMAF last year with the Nola Mini Grands. Wonderfully musical. And, they can play pretty loud! So, I feel both the Ref 150 and 250 are terrific amplifiers. Mike
