Agreed. You'd think the 800 would be better than the 802 (hint: it costs more) but the reviews have been kinda sketchy on this point and there have been few opportunities to hear them back to back. Given how very similar they are in terms of hardware I'd wager that they sound very similar, and that to realize a significant benefit from the 800 you will need an optimal room which will dictate how much of the better bass you get to hear.

Doubt it, bass is one of the most difficult to control in any room. Give it time, the great reviews will come.

I posted it more so that you can see that there have been changes made to xover, the bass driver has a different non hybrid aerofoil cone (our 802D3 have aerofoil diaphragm with non-aerofoil dust cap while the 800D3 has a full aerofoil diaphragm and dust cap), the tuning is obviously different, the position of the drivers are more optimal, the cabinet has different bracing with aluminum matrix supports vs the ply-wood matrix on the 802D3.

The 800D3 are better, there just havent been enough out there yet.

With a 10db and 20db distortion decrease in the 2nd and 3rd harmonics, the midrange will be cleaner.

What you could be hearing in a room that has just been completed and if there is bass bloat, is likely SBI or some other anomaly.

I doubt that with all the tech, the 802D3 is teh best they got.

I don't believe that's true, I'm pretty sure the 802 also has the aluminum as well.

Sure I hope its better than the 802's as well.

I was referring more about the comments on having created the best speaker compared with other brands and they claim to have created the best performance speaker ever and that it will take decades to match it.

It's true. Watch the videos. They show these circular aluminum brackets that the 802 does not have.

Looking at the website the metal supportive structure to the wooden matrix is shown on the 802 and I know it's on the 800 even thought they don't show it. Are you talking about something different?
