My Dartzeel NHB-108 has been the single best piece of audio gear I have ever had or will have. It is simply divine. If I can ever sell my mono block 911's, I am getting the matching NHB-18NS preamp. My Dartzeel has provided a lot of musical enjoyment. A lot of gear has come and gone. The Dartzeel stays.

I am sure those Magico S5's are wonderful as well.

I agree. I have had several amps as well, the Dartzeel stays. I am waiting for a used NHB 18NS preamp to come up. Meanwhile the ML326S sounds great.

The Dartzeel NHB-18NS preamps hardly ever come up for sale. I guess when someone buys one, they hang on to it.

With that removable grill, which will be included with the S5 after January 1, 2013, comes a price increase from the current 28.6k (for satin black or a choice of high gloss finishes) to 29.4k after Jan 1st. For the 29.4k price you have your choice of 6 different satin "M-Cast" finishes. If you want a high gloss finish after Jan 1st, you'll be paying 32.5k. But you do get that removable grill If anyone wants a high gloss finish, pays to purchase before the new year. I view the price increase, so soon after release as unfortunate...

That's the Dealer who sold me all my gear. Boris is a terrific Dealer & very knowledgable. I admit to being tempted by the S5's, though I suspect my Coltrane Alto's may well work better in my smallish listening space

David,

You are very lucky to have a dealer with such a varied collection of gear. It is very impressive.

Joe, the NHB-18NS pre is a lovely preamp. It is like a clear stream for the music; neutral and transparent. It's cut from the same cloth as the Boulder 1010, though of course they are at different price points. With Boulder, you have to pay more attention to cables and your front end, however I think the Dart is more forgiving. As they say, there are many ways to skins a cat

Hi David,

I like forgiving. There is a dealer selling a 1060 amp very close to me. Should I go check it out
