My ball feet are sitting in rubber teflon cups that allow them to be moved on the hardwood for now. I will need to find something with a similar "slidable" bottom to make the spikes work, if at all.

Best,

Matt

Thank you Matt !
I was relieved to know that there is no significant difference.

Anyway, I would not give up easily on the roller-ball castors.
The convenient and easy movement of the speakers, is a function that very important for me...

We have oak floors and I can tell you that the rollers on the 802 along with the weight of the 802s will dent you oak floors.

I have a piece of old carpet under mine that I cut out to the shape of the speakers and put face down. It's barely noticeable, it allows me to move the speakers relatively easily, but it would look much better if they sat on some sliders vs. the carpet.

No kidding!

I sat my 800D's upright and moved them about a foot before realizing the gouges being made in hard maple floors. Fortunately, not visible due to placement (blind luck), but don't even think about positioning something this heavy on hardwood.

We have nice little tracks of indentions on our hardwoods for same reason. Good that the area rug covers up. After deciding on location we leaned them and carefully inserted the spikes and put a dimpled disk under each. Spikes take the looks up a notch even uncertain it helps them sound better.
