Default D'Agostino Momentums and Magico S5 Synergy???

Has anyone had an opportunity to hear the Momentums with the Magico S5's? Also, any thoughts on the Stereo versus the Monos with the S5's would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I haven't heard any Magico gear with Momentum's. My guess is the S5's could be driven by either but It would be good to hear the combination first.

FlexibleAudio;

I had the opportunity to hear S5 with Momentum Stereo and Momentum Preamp at an event at Renaissance Audio in Norway a couple of weeks ago. I have heard the S5 with several amps, and think the Momentums did very well in company with S5. No power issues or short breath at all, even at high volumes. I liked what I heard and think the synergy between Magico and the D'Agostino Momentum is quite good. Tight powerful bass, very good soundstage.

I also got to take the Momentum Pre with me for a quick audition in my own system. Extremely good preamp and, of course, perform outstanding in company with the stereo amp. I compared it with the ARC Ref 5 and LS26, and as we can expect at a triple price, the Momentum pre was in another league...

Sven,

Thanks much. Exactly what I was hoping to get.

The room looks pretty large. Mine is 20 ft by 30 ft with vaulted ceiling of 24 ft at peak (not good). Do you think the Stereo Amp will be adequate?

Also, of the other amps you heard with the S5's may I ask which tops your list and how it compared to Momentum S?
