Thanks Joe!!!

Your speaker looks fab. I think the looks of the stand is growing on me.

These Nola Micro Grand Reference speakers have really caught my eye. I am always keeping my eyes (ears) open to high quality speakers that were designed for small spaces. These guys fit the bill.

Very informative review in the link. I don't quite understand the "you are there", "they are hear" analogy although i have heard others use it before. I dont know which "sound" my Sonus Fabers have - here or there? I would guess it is more 'you are there' as the soundstage is not upfront nor is it aggressive. Nonetheless, i have often felt as though i had songbirds signing in my room late at night on many occassions

i am especially relieved that the reviewer used the Micro's in a room that is nearly identical in volume/dimensions as mine with excellent results. The bass seems to be to die for - within their obvious limits. I imagine i would be able to dial in my REL subs - prob crossed in the upper 20s.....

look forward to more pics!!

im itching to travel to Dallas now and hear these bad boys...hmmmmm Super Bowl weekend (dreamin')

Jason

I haven't read the article, but last I heard he is supposidly pushing these with MC2301's -- but we won't go there.

Additional gear -- Veloche preamp & VPI Classic TT & EMM Labs CD.

Very nice speakers -- heard the Nolas at RMAF (forgot the electronics).

Bob

I was puzzled by his mentioning "basic McIntosh monoblocks". Nothing basic about 2301's. Why not just tell us flat out which model amp ..... We all know it's the mighty 2301. Just review em already!!! Although when he said these speakers were basically the greatest thing he has reviewed in a long long time (I'm paraphrasing here, don't have the article with me) - well, it speaks volumes for the Nola speakers.

Jason, you are welcome. Last time I spoke to Carl, he really liked the MC2301's. He was very impressed. Great, you what that means. Seriously though, I'm shooting for the C2300 first with my Spectrons, then maybe with the MC601's. That should be a nice combo. Even my Spectrons with a tube preamp should be dynamite. It's really nice now, I just want a little more bloom and tube goodness. I'm debating about the JL audio sale. I may start with one F113 for the heck of it. I already have the crossover waiting. Most of the time the bass is more than satisfying.

Hi Bob,

That's what I mean, they are so good they make you forget what's driving them. Ha! I've always had a soft spot for Alon/Nola, very satisfying.

Joe
