I'm currently listening to The Oscar Peterson Trio: Night Train, and I'm loving it so much that I did a search of the threads to find references to it. That lead me to this thread, so I thought I'd toss my hat in the ring for a few favorites:

The Oscar Peterson Trio - Night Train
Lee Morgan - Sidewinder
Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong - Ella & Louis

If limited to CD, then for me it's gotta be Joshua Redman's Back East or Eric Harland's Voyager Live.

Hi!
I can say I have read this thread thoroughly quite a few times to make sure I haven't missed anything. I have bought at least half dozen titles suggested here. Few of them yet to arrive by mail. Others I am still diggesting them.... But I can tell you that 2 suggestions posted here:

-Oscar Peterson (Night train) first suggested by Clarbin
-Dave Brubeck Quartet (Park Avenue South (Live)) suggested by Dan

are absolute masterpieces (must have).

Tks again for the great Forum!!!

My favorite jazz CDs are many, many. Have got an extensive collection through the years. Right now the biggest favorite is:

Sun Ra - Jazz In Silhouette

Most of my favorites have already been posted but my all time favorite jazz album has not been mentioned yet.

My favorite is Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto-Getz/Gilberto. A beautiful relaxing album if you like jazz on the mello side. The FIM K2HD CD version is the one to get, HD tracks has it as a high res download also.

Another great one no one mentioned is Ray Brown-Soular Energy.
