My home in Pa is under contract , closing mid. February and I am thinking this might be a good opportunity for a change . I am also thinking maybe less electronics . In other words I am thinking of selling my C2300 and MC501’s although they both sound and look excellent and buying the new Mcintosh MA12000 . I am guessing the resale value is close to 10 grand for both the MC501’s and the C2300 while the MA12000 is 14 grand MSRP , what are your thoughts. Bad move or good move ?

I plan to Keep my speakers ie The Strads and the Guarneri Mementos keeping both .

Congrats on the house contract/future sale. We all need a fresh start from time to time. I would suggest perhaps waiting to see where you settle down next and evaluate what you need at that point and whether you want to sell or keep the 501s and C2300. You will still have to store your speakers or have a place to move into by the time you sell your home? So what is another few feet of storage space for the 501s and C2300. Right?

The buying new components part is always easy!

Congrats.

If I were looking to simplify, I’d strongly consider a D’agostino integrated (pre-owned).

I heard it paired with Elipsas and it was amazing.

I do love my MAC6700 so getting the big boy integrated would likely sound awesome.

Resale on the integrateds used seems to be softer than separates, so I’d prefer to buy used.

Not a bad idea unless you don’t want to move away from McIntosh....I was thinking the same thing when it comes to downsizing on the electronics end. There are some awesome integrated amplifiers out there including the D’agostino, the Gryphon Diablo and the CH Precision.

I just looked on audiogon a used momentum integrated is 24 k which is way more than i would spend on a used integrated. They are beautiful and appreciate the build quality but I’m good with a Rolex rather than a Patek .

I recently heard the Boulder 866 integrated in my system. I would give it a listen. It was very impressive.

Beautiful. Looks like it is designed as a raised structure?
