Thank you Buck! That's what my new experience tells me. Actually I'v thought of it for quite a while, and then I had the opportunity to by the old Krell units in very good condition I did it with no hesitation just out of curiosity. I wonder what it takes to do much better nowadays. Probably d'Agostinos new products and some others but old Krell is probably still really hard to beat.

I can tell you from personal experience that the FPB amps run very hot because they are class A 100%. They will heat the room. In terms of sound quality they have tremendous presence and resolution without any harshness or hardness. I remember the sound well because I lived with a FPB 700 for many years. The amp finally broke and had to go back to Krell for a complete overhaul. When it returned it supplied me with many more years of faithful service. I suspect the Dag sound is very similar. Many like it, I being one of them.

I will cmarin. I love Gryphons pre amps and power amps. They are among the best due to my likings. I'll probably use it in another system.

As I live i Sweden and FPB run hot is most of the year a good thing. It's heating the house. Even in the summer it's not a big problem i my house. I usually not listening that much in the summer because of other hobbies outside. But I can imagine if you live in an area with hot weather it can be a big problem. My only concern is that's an old amp. It's completely reconditioned with better specified components, especially capacitors and some others. Even better High- end components then when they were new, But of course there are some parts that are old. So I still I worry a bit about it and hope it will function flawless at least another 10 years. What do you guys think?

Since I'm changing pre- and power-amps I have to remake my HiFi-rack and reorganaze.
I think it's looking nice and cool to have monoblocks on the floor. It's even nicer to have a stand for them. Thera are som brands that makes good and nice monoblock-stands. I had one very special stand that is custom made in mind. It's not possible to by anymore and I know a store that uses this one at their demonstrations. So I asked if I could buy them. They were not for sale, but I was lucky. I had to buy them. Pics... It's some very unique rock. It's just possible to find in the south of Norway. With Krell...
