Matching a C500T to a newer MC75
I see in the manual for the C500T the following info:
OUTPUT IMPEDANCE C500P and C500T: 220 Ohms C500T: High Level, 450mV for 2.5V rated output Phono MM, 4.5mV for 2.5V rated output Phono MC, 0.45mV for 2.5V rated output MAXIMUM VOLTAGE OUTPUT C500T: 10V RMS Unbalanced, 20V RMS Balanced And for the MC75: Input Sensitivity (for rated output) 1.7 Volt or 0.85 Volt Unbalanced 3.4 Volt or 1.7 Volt Balanced I plan on running the connection between the two with balanced cables. I'll try both, but in theory what would be the preferred setting on the MC75? The lower voltage of 1.7 or the higher voltage of 3.4? There might be a slight impedance mismatch (but nothing to worry about?) as I read the input impedance should be 10x the output impedance from the preamp - so 22,000 "should" be ideal, whereas the MC75 would be at 15,000 ohms: MC75: Input Impedance 20,000 ohms Unbalanced 15,000 ohms Balanced

From the MC75 manual:
With the MC75 connected to most McIntosh Preamplifiers or A/V Control Centers the correct setting of the Input Sensitivity Switch would be the 1.7V position. HTH.

Thanks. I should read the entire manual rather than simply jumping to the specs

I did the same thing. That's how I knew where to look when you asked.

No issue with impedance mismatch. Try both sensitivity positions with the MC 75. Use the one that gives you the best volume control range on the C500T.

I'll be giving it a try in a couple of weeks (hopefully). And then like Terry I'll have MC75 (2) in my signature.
