The SP-3 and the BDP-2 go together like hand and glove.

Last question for James-sorry.
HDMI 2.0a correct? I believe 2.0a is required to pass HDR. Thanks! That will be my last question. Rick |

Hi, 2.2 is a copy right protection. Not an HDMI version.
It takes HDMI 2.0a or greater to pass HDR (High Dynamic Range) video content. 2.0 is aging a bit and there is a 2.0b now I believe but 2.0 by itself will not pass HDR. Must be 2.0a or greater. I would expect the Bryston to be capable of supporting this. The current Krell cannot (but it is an older implementation). Thanks Rick |

Drunk penguin is right. According to Wikipedia, there is no HDMI 2.2 yet. The upcoming version will be 2.1 which was announced this year but has not been released yet. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI..._5BsgQ9QEIDjAA |

If HDR needs HDMI 2.0a and the upgrade is HDMI 2.0 what's the purpose of upgrading?

So... the answer is that it will NOT do HDR video. That's because HDR requires HDMI 2.0a

I agree with you. HDMI 2.0a has been out for a couple of years now. Why not delay the release to include at least 2.0a or, better yet, 2.0b? |
