Try using the a Ultra Bases under the SS or U5. Makes an additional level of isolation. I have them under my Preamp, power supply to preamp, power amp, and under both P10 power plants both residing on Billy Baggs amp stands. My rear spkrs in my HT have SS with Ultra Bases under them as well.

I also use Ultra Bases along with Ultra SS's under my Sophia 3 speakers. I choose to use them because it improves the stability of the speaker with the wider base ( I have small children) and I like the extra bit of speaker height. my dealer advised me that they also provide a nominal amount of additional isolation to boot. I did not compare to "naked" SS to assess any sonic improvement.

Toga, I too would like to know which it is. My guess is that the glass is so bad that the SS could not help. I would think that glass would resonate like a bell. The Stillpoints both dissipate vibration and try to couple in a downward direction. If the glass is just resonating like mad it may not allow the necessary vertical coupling. Of course, my guess could be dead wrong.

I now have Ultra 5 footers under the Wilson Sofia 2s, Ultra SS footers under the BAT amp and the Esoteric SACD player, and Mini footers under the Shunyata Hydra 6. What an amazingly positive difference they have made! Music seems much more realistic, especially timbre and resonance. My guess is the noise floor is functionally lowered by removing the signal distortion that had been introduced by unwanted vibration.
