Mr T guidance
Hi everyone,
I am considering adding a Mr T to my configuration. Im on European voltage and looking to connect the giscours and the CC80 amps, possibly also connect the MSB DAC. Any thoughts? I see that some people have more than one Mr T, would you bother to connect the Mac mini as well? All input welcome, Paul

In my experience the Mr. T has provided a sonic upgrade for all audio components--especially the Shindo gear (make sure you have your Shindo power chords phased properly--usually with the writing on the chord facing down when plugged in).
Don't think I would plug any computer into it--best on another circuit from what I've read. But haven't tried it. |

Paul, I wouldn't connect a computer to the same Mr. T. There's too much noise in there.
Matt recommended only connecting the preamp, power amps, and sources into one Mr. T. |

I have my amps, pre-amp, turntable and speakers plugged into one Mr. T. If you look carefully at the Shindo power chords you will see writing on one side of the chord. The plug that goes into the Mr. T should be oriented so that this writing faces down. Steve |

Forgot to mention orientation for the plug from Mr. T that goes into wall.
It should be oriented so that the writing on the Shindo power chord faces the ground prong hole in the outlet--assuming your outlet is wired correctly. |

Thinking about it this way, having a Mr. T should take the most of the guesswork out of having the cords plugged in (phase) properly. In other words, all cords plug in to Mr T w/ writing facing down. Then, it's just the one cord from Mr. T to the wall that we would have to make sure of.... I don't have a Mr. T, and plug my Monbrison and CC mono's in 3 separate (dedicated) outlets. Frankly, I have no idea if they are plugged in properly. I will have to take a look later. If memory serves, mine are plugged in w/ the writing facing DOWN toward the ground hole. Cheers -Don |

The salient point is that the cables are plugged "in phase" and that the best way to determine this is to go by the writing on the cord. Therefore, if the writing is facing upwards at the device end then the writing should also face upwards at the outlet end. Or vice versa. I never heard that both ends should be facing down as a rule but I will try this today.
For the Mr. T cord, I cannot comment...never had one. |

I checked my pre @ amp plug orientation, and it looks like I have them correct.
The IEC side on my preamp has the sheath writing on the bottom, so the writing also faces the bottom (ground) side in the outlet. My IEC side on my amps has the writing on top, and of course that side stays on top on the outlet side. Essentially if you ran your fingers along the jacket from IEC side to 2 prong plug, you would run them all the way to the outlet and plug it in that way. Hope I didn't lose anyone on that. |
