I agree that when it comes to customer service, Martin Logan is beyond first class. But since production has shifted to Canada, the amount of QC issues, I read about, and have personally experienced, is reason for concern.
In this case, that appears to be shipping damage, "Toccata" has posted this on another site where he stated that the dealer unpacked the speakers on his driveway and he never saw the boxes to note whether there was shipping damage, however his dealer should have inspected the boxes prior to delivery as damage of this type had to have visible box damage. The unfortunate lesson to be learned is TRUST NO ONE. Try to quell the excitement of getting a new toy with a calm and deliberate inspection of the goods prior to acceptance.

My replacements arrived today...aah, blessed relief--and no dents!! Since the damaged one was arcing from the get-go, I probably never heard the original pair at their best.

Congrats Toccata! Let's hope the only arcing moving forward is limited to the happiness neurons in your brain as your new MLs translate into big audio smiles

How it escaped my attention initially is beyond me. Long story short, ML is sending me a new pair! Now that is some customer service.
Based on my experience, you should get used to that kind of customer service from ML.

Interesting posts going on at the Martin Logan Owners Forum, there is quite the controversy over the 3 fold increase in replacement panels for speakers out of the 5 year warranty.
Many bad vibes with the probable decrease in value of used ML speakers as to replace panels would be financially not feasible now.
Previously a pair of replacement panels for CLS speakers was $900, then raised to $1600, now it is at $2760.00.
The increase was across the board for all speaker models... replacement panels for the CLX went from 3,000.00 to 8800.00.
No support for electronics only panels at this price point for all speakers.
Out of curiosity what is Magneplanar policy on speaker repair after warranty expires.
