Default 800 D3 weight differences.

Comparing the dimensions and weight differences between the 800 D3 speakers has me curious. Specifically the 803 to 800s

800 = 212 pounds / 96 kg
802 = 208 pounds / 94.5 kg
803 = 144 pounds / 65.5

I am surprised for a few reasons

First the 800 is only 4 pounds heavier over the 802.
Second the 803 is 64 pounds lighter than the 802.

144 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, could it really be the cabinet dimensions alone for the weight difference? Is the construction at all different?

The 803D3 is significantly smaller.

Also, the base of the 800D3 was made of metal. Can’t recall if the 802D3 had that too.

Is the 800 actually smaller in height than 802?

No, not at all. The they get smaller as you go down the line

800 / 47.9 tall / 16.3 wide / 24.1 deep / 212 lbs
802 / 47.7 tall / 15.4 wide / 23.0 deep / 208 lbs
803 / 45.7 tall / 13.1 wide / 19.6 deep / 144 lbs

So I spoke to the B&W rep - the 800D3 is actually heavier for the most part - but it saves weight with the base/crossover enclosure vs the one on the 802D3.
