Default Something I Found Out

For those who had the MCD500 BUT have more digital sources that the MCD input can handle (in my case, I have the McIntosh MS750& MVP871, A Samsung LCD 52 Inch TV, A Samsung Bluray DVD player). Managed to hooked all these up to the MCD500 only 2 input.

Just to share my experience and if this is "old" trick, sorry for taking up your time. This is how I have mine hooked up.

1. The MS750 hooked IN to the MCD500 via Co-axial (Single RCA - Argento Audio).

2. The MVP871 hooked IN to the Samsung LCD TV via Wireworld HDMI

3. The Samsung Bluray DVD player hooked IN to the same Samsung LCD TV via Wireworld HDMI.

4. The Samsung LCD TV Digital OUT hooked IN to the MCD500 Glass INPUT via Wireworld Glass Cable.

This way, the Samsung TV acts as a sort of "switcher" for the TV signal itself, the MVP871 and the Samsung Bluray DVD. All it takes its the TV switching channels and presto! The signal changes to the respective sources.

The only thing one MUST do is to ensure the TV, MVP871 and the Samsung Bluray DVD player AUDIO OUT are changed to PCM only! No other types as doing so, the sound would be harsh, edgy and scratchy. Bass would also be weak when playing thru the MCD500. Also this would only play STEREO sound!

However, once the change is done, it all sounded good! Real good! So much so, I am going through a re-cycle auditioning of all my DVD's, Bluray DVD's and even watching TV programs! The sound and the effect it has is simply enjoyable!

Nope, this does not mean I will be going for HT surround sound. Not that I wont BUT not now. Right now, I am enjoying more than ever whatever I have - like a fresh breath of air!

So, there I now have all my digital sources all routed to the MCD500 wonderful DA's and today, to me, its all about musical enjoyment through my new found system!

Happy! Very Happy!

Cheers!

Jerry.......That is some great advice on maximizing the two MCD500 digital inputs. I will file that one for future use. Very good.

That was my main reason for going straight to the 1K. However, your rigging of the 500 really makes it functional and ultimately quite convenient for the video sources.

Nice work.

Now if we can just get the MX150 so it can do ALL of that for us with a bag of potato chips...
