It is not always a matter of outperforming, but also a matter of being affordable. Honestly my Benchmark outperforms anything Mc offers in a DAC, but I would still have gotten the D150... you know my background so you know why....

Randy...that's a great question. I wonder what the DAC chipset is as well.

I want one to connect to my C1100 but don't want to be the first. I will wait for some reviews from others before getting too excited.

What a Cool looking DAC. Reminds me of the MDA1000

Looks interesting, though I don't think I'll be upgrading the D100 just yet. I wonder if we'll ever see another true standalone DAC from them or if they'll all be DAC/preamp combos. It's hard to imagine that someone buying a piece this expensive wouldn't have at least one analog device, but what do I know.

Exactly my point. It's either you are buying one strictly as a DAC to hook to your pre-amplifier. If that is the case then why would you need all the rest that is in a piece like this? Or, you are going to use it as a stand alone pre-amplifier and very few looking at this level equipment don't have at least one analog device. I mean I have a pretty low end system compared to most of you guys and I even need two analog inputs, and I consider myself to have basically an all digital system.

If it had tone controls, I would have a lot more interest.

For now I will continue to run my D100 into my MA6600.

Although the D1100 is an interesting looking product, this is pretty much where I'm at on this too. I'm using a 20 year old C40 preamp with an MDA1000 DAC and couldn't be much happier. If I changed one thing about it I'd surely be giving up something.

And I have to agree with what was said here about just how many meters do we need....

What does your system consist of these days?
