Nice. You went all out on the HRS setup. Try it without the damping plates; I've found that they slow down speed and push the emphasis to the bass.

I have not heard that myself. I listened to them for a week before adding the plates. Tap the top of the Progression amp, the Master Power series also and you can hear the metal top plate ringing from the tapping against it. Please elaborate on when eliminating a resonance it affects the "speed" of the amplifier? I am attempting to eliminate an audible ringing that is present. This does not occur with the Momentum amps since the top is solid billet.

Sitting on HRS is a perfect match, very TRICK in every way!

No idea the result of the damping plates other then on top of DACs, Pre, Streamers, curious on the comments.

Vern -- maybe you should touch base with Bill McKiegan at D'Agostino? I have his email if you want it -- PM me.

Best Sir & hope there's a solution as Mike Latvis I believe says damping plates shouldn't be used on amps.

Bob

I called HRS right after reading that to confirm this rumor. HRS within 5 minutes called me back and confirmed to me to use the plates. Just use the correct size and weight and do not cover the vents. Mike Latvis was not there but will call me back in a couple if days maybe sooner.

I am on the phone with Mike Latvis as I type this. He called me back while he's driving. We talked for over fifteen minutes! Now to make it clear that nobody else starts spreading hearsay, he just told me to use them on the Progression amps! He also stated it was possible he told someone else in a past conversation with different amps to not use them on THOSE particular amps as there was no improvement!

Vern

I spoke with Petra who gave me Bill's cell number after my order was placed in December. I have to call the factory today about a different issue I have with one amp.

My bad Vern -- I was a bit quick on responding -- the conversation went more like "Mike felt most amps did not benefit." In this case with your ringing, there's a benefit.

Did the damping plates negate that ringing?

Sorry 'bout that.

Best Sir,

Bob

Yes they did, I had to use two per monoblock as shown. It was nice to speak directly with him. Now I'm about to call D'Agostino with a question regarding the amps. It's all good Bob!
