Hello
I have a barn system that I want to place one of my inspire amplifiers in. The speaker wires are approximately 40 foot for the left and 40 foot for the right speakers. The equipment head end is towards the back on a side wall is the reason for the length of wires. Will it be Ok to put my Inspire amp in my system out there?

I don't know if the long speaker run makes the amp Ok? to run? The wire is 12 gauge. Maybe I am over thinking this. I just did not want to harm anything.
Thanks
Rich

Rich, you should be fine.back in the 80’s I bought my first pair of Klipschorns and the seller gave me a C-22 and pair of McIntosh MC-30’s and the room in my basement was 32 ft wide and I used 12gauge copper wires and I had no problem.

Thanks for your reply, I will put it out there this week. Winters coming maybe already here in Clarksville TN, time to fire up the barn system.

I just got my Inspire amp. Sounds fantastic. I love it, and it's VERY nice looking. I have a question. It runs very warm, running KT88 tubes. The chassis measures 135° in most areas after about an hour of use. Is this normal? Should I consider running a little fan to cool it? If I run different tubes like KT66 will it run cooler?
Just a little worried.

I just received an Inspire Amp. It's so beautiful. Question, it seems to be running at 135° F, measured in the middle of the red chassis. Is that okay? I'm running KT88 power tubes.

It seemed a little hot, even when I went to turn off the steel toggle power switch it seemed quite hot to me. So right now I have aimed a little 12 volt computer fan at hit, and that actually drops the chassis temperature by 20 degrees, just blowing across the power tubes.

Is this normal?

Which rectifier are you using, 5AR4? If so, try one with more voltage drop, like a 5R4GY the tubes will not be run hard and the amp will be cooler. My Inspire runs hot with a 5AR4.

Is the rectifier the one all the way on the right?
Yes, it came with a Sovtek 5AR4. Thank you for the advice.

Hey paulmlemay, your amp is fine, don't worry about it.
