Default Three privacy tools that block your Internet provider from tracking you

" It's official: Congress has sold you out to Internet service providers, passing a bill that dismantles Internet privacy rules and allows ISPs to sell your web history and other personal information without your permission. Assuming President Trump signs the bill into law, it means anyone concerned about privacy will have to protect themselves against over zealous data collection from their ISP. "

Try a personal VPN. I've used one for a couple of years now and it works great (plus, you can get Netflix anywhere in the world). Presented some technical issues in China last year, but other than that (and, does one really expect internet privacy in China), it has worked great (and no-one knows my IP or can see my transmissions, even when I'm logging on from starbucks).

It's a nasty world out there on the internet . . . .

I've used Cloak for years as my VPN on my iPad. It is the only computer I travel with so I never log on to any WiFi network at hotels, restaurants, or any other public place without engaging Cloak. Works like a charm. Looks like I'll have to begin considering a VPN for my home network.

I pretty much always like the way you think Dan.

I use Express VPN and, as soon as I get over setting up the new turntable, I'm going to install Express VPN on the router (in addition to the devices).

Heard a similar report earlier today on the radio, and now have HTTPS Everywhere and Privacy Badger extensions installed in Chrome. I had previously considering using OpenDNS and finally set it up today as well and so far so good. Website access time has improved and haven't run into any problems yet. Thanks for the heads up and sharing the link to the PC World article!

NordVPN Is set up in Panama, which does not have any data sharing agreements with the US Government. It works great. There are settings to allow for Torrent and Netflix. I had previously used Witopia, but it seemed to bog down frequently. NordVPN is a great product so far. No DNS leak.

Any chance of AA using https?

Doesn't that make things invisible or unreadable?

Gary,
Sure. But your ISP still knows you are visiting this site. A VPN only tells your ISP you are using a VPN, but even that can be cloaked.
