Always let you ears be the judge. If you peruse the "positions" manufacturers take, one thing becomes clear, let your ears be the judge. If you hear a difference and it sounds better to you, great!

Everything sounds great. I started with Shunyata Venom power cords and liked it. Then a Venom RCA came along. I like it, too. Now I'm hungry for some more cables.
I learned some more today. Thank you. |

The main point to take away is, you will not do any harm if you don't follow the arrow, you may or may not hear a difference if at all but you will not hurt anything if you try to reverse them. Let your ears be the judge and if you hear a difference and one way is better than the other, well, there you go, leave it that way.
