McPlanar.......Audio Aficionado is a unique site, with many areas that allow us to express ideas about a lot of different things. First and foremost, though, it is truely The Friendly Forum For High-End Audio, just like the banner says. There are a lot of good natured, intellegent people that spend time here, sharing information, and helping everyone get the most from there sound systems. The best part about Audio Aficionado is the site's owner is not an authoritarian, constantly trying to limit our self expression, edit our posts, and restrict our conversations. AA's members, through a shared desire to keep this site fun, informative, and civil, practice self moderation. That is why Audio Aficionado is enjoyed so much by its members. Audio Aficionado is really a brotherhood, and sisterhood of a bunch of audio nuts hanging out in the same cashew can.

Hi everyone, been lurking and finally decided to join since I like Mac and Marantz so much. Slightly obsessed.

Right now, have a MA6500 and might pull the trigger on an MVP861 for an unbelievable price. I don't plan to use DVD, but it will be my primary CDP. I would love to have a 301 but don't have the budget now. Any thoughts are appreciated, looking forward to contribute to these forums.

Cheers
John

Welcome JT3. wave:
You will not be sorry with the 861. It is a fine unit.

Careful here. People tend to keep upgrading.

Hiroyuki.......Welcome to Audio Aficionado. You certainly began your McIntosh journey with a very fine piece of gear. I love the MA7000, and were I in need of an integrated amplifier, that would be the one in my home.

Glad to see you found us. Tell your friends.
